Loyola Softball Volunteers At Dream Halloween Event
Nov. 12, 2007
CHICAGO - On Oct. 20, members of Loyola University Chicago's softball team participated as volunteers at Dream Halloween, a charity event for children in and around the Chicagoland area. The project benefited the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF). Dream Halloween is an event that is staged each Halloween in five major cities in the United States. CAAF is the only organization solely devoted to providing social, educational, recreational and other critical support programs to vulnerable children impacted by HIV/AIDS in the United States and other countries worldwide. Loyola softball student-athletes spent a night filled with trick-or-treating, face painting, live entertainment, food and fun, with the children. A handful of Ramblers, who had as much fun as the children, dressed up in costume, while others were stationed at the arts and crafts table and face painting stations to make for an exciting and memorable night for all involved. Last season, Loyola's softball team was lauded with the Horizon League Community Outreach award for its work in and around the Loyola community. |
