Crosson Named Horizon League Pitcher Of The Week

March 25, 2008

CHICAGO - After posting one of the best performances of her career, Loyola University Chicago junior Krista Crosson was named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week this morning. The right-hander and 2007 First Team All-Horizon League selection has earned League Pitcher of the Week accolades for the first time in her career.

In game two of a doubleheader at Butler on March 21, the Lake Stevens, Wash., native hurled all 11.0 innings and yielded only three hits, while striking out a career-high 12 batters, in Loyola's 1-0 victory. She has now prevailed in six of her last seven regular-season Horizon League decisions, dating back to last season. For the year, Crosson is 2-5 with a 4.01 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 43.2 innings of work.

Loyola is scheduled to play its home opener tomorrow versus Bradley at 5 p.m.
