Sara Bandauski

Player Profile

Position:
Assistant Coach

Alma Mater:
DePaul (2006)

Sara Bandauski, who played four seasons at DePaul as a utility player, heads into her third season as a graduate assistant coach at Loyola. Last season, Bandauski helped guide the Ramblers to a record-breaking season in which they posted 28 victories, the most since 2004. Along the way, the Ramblers established three single-season team records in 2009, setting new standards for batting average (.264), home runs (37) and stolen bases (116).

Off the field, pitcher Amy Solava was selected Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V, while as a team, the softball program was one of six Loyola programs to earn a NCAA Public Recognition Award for its outstanding Academic Progress Report score.

Under Bandauski's watchful eye in 2008, five Ramblers earned All-Horizon League honors and Loyola saw several players challenge single-season school records including Ellen Kresl, who batted .374, which ranks as the fourth-highest average in Rambler annals. That outstanding effort at the plate helped Kresl become Loyola's first-ever National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-Mideast Region performer. Meanwhile, off the field, senior Kat Krause became only the third Rambler to earn ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V recognition for the second time in her illustrious career.

At DePaul, Bandauski helped the Blue Demons to the 2005 Women's College World Series, a 45-21 overall record, and a final National Fastpitch Coaches Association/USA Today No. 8 ranking. During the 2005 campaign, Bandauski appeared in 63 games, hit her only career home run, and posted career highs with six doubles and 17 RBI.

As a freshman at DePaul, the Homer Glen, Ill., native was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

A two-time Daily Herald All-Area selection at Providence Catholic High School, Bandauski was also a two-time team most valuable player selection and also earned honorable mention all-state honors as a senior.

Bandauski graduated from DePaul in 2006 with a degree in marketing.
