Loyola Inks Lindsey Sebetic To Letter Of Intent
Nov. 26, 2007
CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago head women's basketball coach Shannon Reidy and her staff have announced the signing of Lindsey Sebetic (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) to a National Letters of Intent. Sebetic signed last week, prior to the end of the signing period, and joins Ellen Ayoub and Lisa Samplawski in Loyola's recruiting class for the 2008-09 season. "Our priority in our first two recruiting classes at Loyola was to recruit Chicagoland and to recruit young players that had the capability of playing for us right away," said Reidy. "With this class, we were finally able to recruit players specifically towards our offense, players that have the talents and instincts we need to run our system. I am also thrilled with the make-up of the class, student-athletes from Chicago, Wisconsin and Indiana. It shows our diversity and desire to be impacted by the outstanding Midwest talent. By signing Ellen, Lisa and Lindsey, our staff feels very good about the impact these three will bring to the program immediately. " Lindsey Sebetic One of the top point guards in the state of Wisconsin ... Ranked as the No. 15 senior in state by Wisconsin Women's Basketball Yearbook ... Named first team all-conference all three seasons ... Two time all-county selection and also an honorable mention all-state choice ... Ranked among the top 40 juniors in the state last season ... Averaged 14.1 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 3.9 assists per game and 3.4 steals per game last season ... Ranked in the top 15% of her class, academically, and is a member of the National Honor Society ... Plays AAU for Full Package. Reidy on Lindsey: "Lindsey was a huge surprise for us at the end of the signing period. I spent a lot of time in the summer watching her AAU team (Full Package), which is one of the top AAU programs in the country. Her skills fit our offensive needs so well. She is quick off the dribble and runs the transition game with speed and confidence. Teammates love playing with her as she is an excellent distributor, is savvy with the ball and has clear vision of the entire court. She is used to playing with some of the best post players in the country, so she will quickly enhance our inside-outside game. Lindsey also brings a scoring edge, quick to attack or quick to open up her perimeter game. As a point guard she has the capabilities of really mixing up her game for us. I love her determination and drive to win. She keeps a steady and confident edge on the court and she always comes ready to compete. Right when Lindsey set foot on campus, our entire staff knew this was the type of student-athlete that would make great strides here for us at Loyola. Lindsey is an all-around strong athlete and being consistently recognized as one of the top players in Wisconsin makes for a great catch for us. Signing Lindsey, just made Loyola better today." |
