Jenny Callan

Player Profile

Position:
Director of Basketball Operations

Alma Mater:
Lehigh, 2006

A native of the southwest suburbs, Jenny Callan is set to begin her second season as Loyola's Coordinator of Basketball Operations.

"Jenny Callan embodies the qualities and attributes of a great Director of Operations and she has proven herself to be an indispensable part of the program," said head coach Eric Simpson. " She is well-liked and respected by both the student- athletes and Loyola administration. Jenny will continue to be a terrific mentor and leader for our young women and she has diligently worked to ensure that our women's basketball program serves the educational and personal needs of our student-athletes throughout her tenure. As a gifted former student-athlete at Benet Academy and Lehigh University herself, Jenny understands the importance of her many roles in our program and I am very happy that she has returned to Loyola."

Callan was a three-year starter in the frontcourt at Lehigh, finishing her career with 831 points and 622 rebounds in 100 appearances, including 63 starts. She earned the coaches award after her sophomore season and capped her career by being named to the All-Patriot League First Team after a senior season in which she averaged 15.4 ppg and 10.9 rpg, a figure that ranked 10th in the country. Voted team captain her senior season, Callan holds both the Lehigh and Patriot League records for rebounds in a game (21), possesses the Lehigh single-season and career field goal percentage records and ranks in the top five in school history in rebounds. Callan also excelled in the classroom, earning ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-District in 2006. After graduation, Callan spent a year in Ireland as a player with the Ulster Rockets and served as the program director for Peace Players International, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she organized and developed cross-community basketball programs and camps in an effort to bring together Protestant and Catholic youth.

The Lisle native is a 2006 graduate of Lehigh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology/Social Pathology and was a four-semester member of the school's Dean's List.
