A Trio of Ramblers Named to NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Team

Three players from the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Great Lakes Region Team it was announced today. The Ramblers have earned all-region recognition for the second time in as many years. Sophomore Michael Ferguson led the way for the Ramblers earning First Team accolades for the first time in his collegiate career. The Overland Park, Kan., native capped off the 2007 season with 15 goals and two assists for a total of 32 points. Ferguson ranks fifth in the NCAA in goals per game (0.79) and ninth in points per game (1.68). He earned a pair of Horizon League Player of the Week honors, Soccer America National Team of the Week accolades on two separate occasions, led the Horizon League in game-winning goals (7) and was named Horizon League Player of the Year. Senior defender Iradj Farahmand II earned Second Team honors after captaining a Rambler defense to a school-record tying ten shutouts for the second consecutive year. Farahmand was a First Team Horizon League selection and earned the League's Defensive Player of the Year award. The Northbrook, Ill., native helped guide the Ramblers to a 10-5-4 overall record en route to capturing their first-ever outright regular-season title. An Arlington Heights, Ill., native, Keum Sung Kim, garnered Third Team honors. Kim was Loyola's second leading scorer totaling four goals and eight points. The senior midfielder captured Second Team-All Horizon League accolades and was named to the Horizon League Championship all-tournament team.
