Loyola In Seventh Place After Two Rounds At League Championship

LEBANON, Ohio - After 36 holes of competition at the Horizon League Championship, Loyola University Chicago resides in seventh place after posting a score of 616 (307-309) today at Shaker Run Golf Course. Cleveland State (593) possesses a slim three-stroke lead over Detroit (596) heading into tomorrow's final round of play at the 6,953-yard course. Junior Armando Favela leads Loyola's contingent of golfers after posting a 150 (76-74) today, which ties him for 11th place. A 2007 All-Horizon League selection, Favela finished tied for ninth at last year's Horizon League Championship. Sean Bidzinski (78-77) and Dylan Gergen (76-79) each recorded scores of 155 to tie for 19th place, while Robert Caplin carded a 157 (78-79) and Thomas Greene notched a 161 (77-84) to round out Loyola's lineup this afternoon. Green Bay's Adam Austreng (70-71=141) holds the slightest edge over Kyle Thomas (71-71=142) of Butler in the race for medalist honors.
