Greene Named Horizon League Men's Golf Player of the Week

April 18, 2007

CHICAGO - Freshman Thomas Greene (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) has been named Horizon League Men's Golf Player of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the League office. Greene, who posted a 54-hole score of 218 (72-76-70), helped Loyola University Chicago to a second-place finish at the Wiscon Corporation Invitational, April 16-17 at Pine Meadow Golf Course in Mundelein, Ill.

En route to a tie for fourth place individually, Greene fired a two-under-par 70 in the final round on April 17 and also added in an even-par 72 in the tournament's first 18 holes of competition.

In an impressive inaugural season as a collegiate player, Greene has already turned in four under-par rounds, including a 67 at the IPFW Fall Classic on Oct. 16, 2006. Through 20 rounds of play this year, Greene ranks second on the team with a 74.0 average.

Loyola is off until it competes at the Horizon League Championships, April 30-May 1, in Lebanon, Ohio.
