Loyola In Title Contention After 36 Holes At Wiscon Corporation Invite
Results Through Two Rounds
April 16, 2007 MUNDELEIN, Ill. - Thanks to sparkling play by several players today, Loyola University Chicago is in the hunt for the title at the Wiscon Corporation Invitational after 36 holes of competition at Pine Meadow Golf Course. The Ramblers recorded a team score of 586 today and trail Western Illinois by only eight strokes. Frank Linquist fired a one-under 71 in the final round this afternoon to finish the day with a 145 (74-71) to rank sixth. Armando Favela was also stellar as he tied for seventh with a 146 (71-75), while Peter Tomkie (77-70=147) turned in the team's lowest score of the day with a two-under 70. Thomas Greene (72-76=148) tied for 13th today, while Sean Bidzinski (77-77=154) tied for 23rd. Loyola's Gold team featured stong performances from Michael Wieland (75-81=156), Robert Caplin (78-79=157), Aaron Harter (76-83=159), John Caponigro (78-85=163) and Sean Lannon (81-86=167). The Gold team sits in 10th place with a 635 and Kevin Emmerich also notched a 156 (78-78) as an individual today.
