Men’s Golf Takes Fourth Place at Ft. Lauderdale Classic

Keith Nelson shot a 73 in the closing round at the Ft. Lauderdale Spring Classic

CHICAGO (March 16, 2005) – Led by the play of senior Keith Nelson, Loyola University Chicago earned a fourth-place finish at the six-team Ft. Lauderdale Spring Classic. The Ramblers posted a team score of 622 (316-306) for the tournament.

Nelson fired an opening-round 76, before shooting a 73 in the second day of play to finish with a score of 149, tops among Rambler golfers. Frank Linquist followed with a 157 (81-76), while Michael Wieland (79-81) and Aaron Harter (84-76) each carded a 160 at the Grande Oaks Golf Club. Matt Krummel rounded out the Loyola lineup with a 166 (80-86).

Loyola swings back to action April 25-26 at the Dayton Invitational.
