Rambler Men Capture Fourth Place At Ft. Lauderdale Spring Classic

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Led by the impressive play of sophomore Armando Favela, Loyola University Chicago captured fourth place at the Ft. Lauderdale Spring Classic, which concluded today at Grande Oaks Golf Course. Loyola posted a team score of 587, which was only 14 strokes behind champion, Loyola (Md.).

The left-handed Favela was sensational in the two rounds of play, firing a 69 in the opening round, before carding a 73 in today's final 18 holes, to finish with a 142 and tied for fourth overall. Sean Bidzinski turned in one of his best performances of the season, tying for 14th with a 147 (75-72), while Peter Tomkie recorded a 148 (75-73) to tie for 19th place. Thomas Greene notched a 150 (77-73) to place 23rd and round out Loyola's finishers. Frank Linquist was forced to withdraw from the opening round due to illness, but came back in round two to fire a 73.

Loyola is back in action April 2-3 at the Cincinnati Collegiate Invite.
