Blake Schilb Invited To NBA Pre-Draft Camp

May 15, 2007

CHICAGO - Blake Schilb, who graduated from Loyola University Chicago last weekend, has been invited to attend the National Basketball Association Pre-Draft Camp in Orlando, May 29-June 4. This will be the second consecutive year that the 6-foot-7 guard has competed at the NBA Pre-Draft Camp, as he did so last year before opting to return for his final season of eligibility with the Ramblers.

"We are really excited about Blake getting invited to the Pre-Draft Camp," Loyola head coach Jim Whitesell said. "He played well down there last year and I think teams remembered that. He has the ability to go down there and show off his skills this year. This has been a big week for Blake since he graduated on Friday and received the invite to the Pre-Draft Camp last night. We couldn't be happier for him, but he also understands that he has a lot of work to do down there."

Schilb, who finished his career ranked fourth on the Loyola all-time scoring chart with 1,879 points, was a First Team All-Horizon League selection for the third straight year in 2006-07 after leading Loyola to a 21-11 record for its first 20-win campaign since 1984-85. The versatile guard averaged 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a senior and also captured National Association of Basketball Coaches First Team All-District 11 honors.

The only player in school history to amass over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists in his career, Schilb finished the season with a flourish, averaging 30.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.5 spg and 1.0 bpg, while shooting 56 percent (22 for 39) from the field at the 2007 Horizon League Championship in Dayton, Ohio. At this year's Final Four in Atlanta, he participated in the NABC All-Star Game and the following week competed at the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational where he averaged 20.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 2.5 apg over the final pair of contests.
