Men's and Women's Cross Country Begin Season Today

The Ramblers will be at Iowa for the first meet of the 2004 season

Sam Romanoski was named 2003 Newcomer of the Year in cross country

Chicago, Ill. (September 10, 2004) – The Loyola men’s and women’s cross country teams will be competing in their first meet of the season today at the University of Iowa.

Last season both the men’s and women’s teams finished in second place at the Horizon League Cross Country Championships. On the men’s side Sam Romanoski was named Newcomer of the Year, while Andrew McQuillan and Robert Wade took All-League First team honors. Romanski, Andy Sbertoli and Sean Conroy were honored on the All-League Second Team. For the women, Amanda Domich took home first team honors while teammates Maureeca Lambert, Anna Hinterschied and Sara Covert grabbed second team honors.

The Ramblers’ next meet is Saturday September 18th, where they will be competing in the UW-Parkside Invitational.
