Loyola Cross Country Competes at NCAA Midwest Regional

The Loyola University Chicago cross country program was led by All-League First Team freshman Ben Reifenberg and junior Pam Staton to 19th and 20th-place finishes, respectively, at the NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country meet on Saturday afternoon. The Rambler men posted a team score of 545 and placed 19th out of 23 teams. Reifenberg's 90th-place 32:49 run paced the Loyola men as junior Ryan Kuphall (32:55) finished 95th, sophomore Matt McCabe (33:10) placed 104th, freshman Scott Matzoll (34:15) came in 132nd and freshman Anthony Wile (34:37) garnered 137th out of 155 competitors. On the women's side, Staton came in 102nd with a time of 22:26 as junior Genevieve Binnie (22:28) placed 104th, freshman Alison Rack (22:53) finished 121st, junior Gada Qafisheh (22:55) came in 124th and freshman Danielle Locascio (23:06) placed 134th out of 178 competitors. The Rambler women recorded a team score of 558 while placing 20th out of 25 teams. The Ramblers will compete at the NCAA Championships on Monday, November 19 in Terre Haute, Ind. The competition is set for an 11 a.m. Central Time start. |
