CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago track and field program had an outstanding weekend at the Iowa State Classic and the Chicagoland Championships. Several Ramblers recorded personal-bests, as senior Joe Mahalick etched himself into the Loyola record books in the indoor 800m run.

Mahalick's swift time of 1:53.71 now ranks him ninth in the all-time indoor charts. The Joliet, Ill., native placed 41st out of 112 competitors to lead the Ramblers. Following Mahalick, was senior Cliff Cook who placed 84th overall as he recorded a personal-best of 1:56.95.

Freshman Ben Reifenberg paced the Ramblers in the men's mile run as he finished first overall in the non-seeded event with a time of 4:17.42.

The Rambler men's squad of Donte Prisby, Ricky Headrick, Tom Andreoni and Martin Pugliese ran the 4x400m in 3:19.99 which is good for eighth-place in the Loyola indoor record books. The quartet finished 29th out of 39 teams.

Genevieve Binnie led the Rambler women as she recorded a personal-best time of 17:51.41 in the women's 5,000m for 26th-place among 53 runners. Binnie's time is 85 seconds faster than her previous personal-best. Rounding out the women's 5,000m, were Ashley Raymond (18:04.98) who placed 34th and Alison Rack (18:11.66) who garnered a 38th-place finish.

Junior Pam Staton recorded an indoor personal-best of 2:15.01 in the women's 800m run. Staton placed 30th among 88 competitors. Coming in behind Staton for the Ramblers were Jena Brown (2:19.01) who took 63rd-place followed by Caitlin Ferry (2:20.98) who finished 70th.

At the Chicagoland Championships in Romeoville, Ill., freshman Jordan Rohlfing recorded two separate personal-bests. The Omaha, Neb., native recorded a mark of 10.63m for a 12th-place finish in the shot put and she also led the Ramblers in the women's weight throw as she garnered a 12.15m mark for 15th-place among 42 competitors. Teammates Jessica Sheahan (10.93m) and Leili Khorassani (10.48m) placed 20th and 23rd, respectively, as Sheahan and Khorassani recorded personal-bests of their own in the event.
