Pam Staton leads the Ramblers at the Indiana Relays
 
 
Ramblers Enjoy a Weekend of Personal-Bests at Indiana Relays

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Loyola University Chicago track and field program excelled at the Indiana Relays, as six Ramblers achieved personal-bests over the weekend. Junior Pam Staton recorded a career-best time of 2:15.02 in the Women's 800m run to lead the Ramblers.

Staton's swift 2:15.02 is four seconds better than her previous personal-best in the 800m. She placed sixth overall out of 10 competitors. The Ingleside, Ill., native also posted a time of 5:07.26 in the mile run for a ninth-place finish.

Junior Ashley Raymond led the Rambler women in the 3,000m run with a second-place finish (10:22.34) in her season debut. Junior Genevieve Binnie was among the half-dozen Ramblers who recorded personal-bests, as she placed third out of 36 runners in the 3,000m. Her swift time of 10:23.38 was 20 seconds faster than her previous personal-best. Just behind Binnie in the 3,000m was freshman Alison Rack who garnered a personal-best of 10:35.20 for a 10th-place finish.

Sophomore Jena Brown recorded a personal-best of 5:12.81 in the mile run for a 12th-place finish out of 43 competitors.

On the men's side, senior Joe Mahalick paced the Ramblers as he ran a season-best 1:57.02 in the Men's 800m. The Joliet, Ill., native garnered 12th place out of 39 runners. Freshman Ben Reifenberg led the Rambler men in the mile run with a personal-best 4:17 for a third-place finish out of 46 competitors. The sixth and final Rambler to record a personal-best over the weekend was junior Martin Pugliese. Pugliese ran the Men's 600m with a time of 1:24.24 to place 29th out of 41 runners.

The Ramblers are back in action on Friday, February 8 when they compete at the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind.
