Past Events

Food Drive (October 2007)
Men's and women's sports faced off to see who could collect the most cans and non-perishable food items. The food was donated to the St. Ignatius Food Pantry

Clothing Drive (November 2007)

Student-athletes donated gently used clothing to Team Living, an organization in Chicago that supports underprivileged adults and children. Their donations filled a 15-passenger van!

Dodge Ball Championship (November 2007)

Fifty student-athletes competed against each other in the Gentile Center.

Career Day (November 2007)

Donnell Turner from Career Services Center conducted this seminar in the Ireland Room. He covered resume writing and showed student-athletes how to augment their resumes with their athletic achievements. Additionally he discussed interviewing and how to find internships relative to particular fields of interest.

Misericordia Day (December 2007)

Student-athletes will assist the residents of the Misericordia Home in Rogers Park in attending the men's basketball game Dec. 15, 2007.

Guest Speaker, Doug Dome

Doug Dome was the founder and CEO of Dome Communications, a 75-person public relations firm in Chicago, and also held the position of the Chief Creative Officer for the largest PR agency in the world. Since recently selling his PR agency, Doug teaches marketing courses at the University of Chicago's MBA program and is a consultant. He spoke to the student-athletes about how his prep athletic career prepared him with the tools he needed to become a renowned industry expert and successful entrepeneur.
