Loyola Announces Staff Additions

Aug. 1, 2006

CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago announced today the hiring of a pair of support staff personnel, Kristi Schluckbier and Mike DeVine.

Schluckbier has been promoted to full-time status after spending the 2005-06 season as an athletic training intern at Loyola, where she worked closely with the sports of men's soccer and softball. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Schluckbier has experience working with teams at both Kalamazoo College and Western Michigan.

DeVine, a 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, has been named sports information intern and will handle the publicity efforts for the sports of men's soccer, men's volleyball and cross country/track and field, while assisting with the Ramblers' other varsity sports.

As a student at Wisconsin, DeVine was the primary media contact for the Badgers' men's tennis and golf teams while also working closely with the nationally ranked women's volleyball squad, among others. DeVine gained further experience by working the 2005 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament at the United Center in Chicago and the 2006 NCAA Men's Hockey Championship in Milwaukee. He also has served as a sportswriter for the Beloit Daily News, where he covered the Beloit Snappers, a minor league baseball team.
